Well, it has certainly been a busy time lately! I am turning my speech Oops! Your Body Language is Showing into manuscript form for a book of the same title. Be on the look-out for it later this year.
I have also been practicing for my Speech tonight, where I will be speaking for Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, CT. The audience consists of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists, and I am speaking about the program Brain Gym. The original Brain Gym program was created by Dr Paul Dennison when he realized that we are all learning-blocked to some extent and that we have mastered the ability to NOT MOVE! Brain Gym incorporates 26 basic body movement activities to help rewire and channel energy through our bodies.
I have been involved with Applied Kinesiology for 25 years and have personally overcome 5 major illnesses using Kinesiology and alternative therapies. About 10 years ago, I started doing Educational Kinesiology as well. Educational Kinesiology includes the Brain Gym program. For those that don’t know, kinesiology is the study and practice of understanding and working with the movement of the muscles of the body.
I will be speaking long enough tonight to give the audience members a sample of what they can use with their clients and patients in home and facility therapy programs. Perhaps you have had a sample of food at a contemporary grocery store. Similar to that experience we know that even a sample can instill ideas that you can use immediately. One of the moves we will discuss is the cross crawl. One arm touches the opposite leg while the leg is bent and raised. Go ahead, stand up and do the cross crawl now, you will have increased energy. This post’s drawing of the cross crawl was created by Zach Sorena, a 20-year-old with Autism.

I was at your presentation last night and was wondering when the training is planned for this summer as I would like to participate.
I’m glad that you enjoyed the presentation, and are interested in learning more about Brain Gym. The session is July 10-12, 2012, which is a Tuesday through Thursday. To learn more about it, go to http://carolynfinch.com/kinesiology/brain-gym-101/.
